This is what I think it means lar..
AME= Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
LAE= Licensed Aircraft Engineer
Both are used to refer to the same job, at least as far as I've heard it being used lar.

but i would ask u guys,wuts t different between diploma of engineering tech in avionics maintenance with diploma in maintenance tech(avionics)?
